Goal setting involves the development of an action plan designed to motivate and guide a person or group toward a goal. Goals can be set in every sphere of life – education, career, family, finance, leisure, vacation, health, fitness, social and recreational.

- SPECIFIC – Be very specific in setting your goal and what , when & where is to be accomplished.
- MEASURABLE – Make sure your goal is measurable i.e you can measure how much of your goal has been achieved.
- ATTAINABLE – Goals need to stretch you slightly so you feel you can do it BUT will need real commitment from you. Keep your goals attainable or achievable.
- REALISTIC – Goals need to be realistic to achieve and relevant
- TIME-BOUND – Put a realistic time frame to achieve your goals.
